Good question - I think we should all be that extra little bit more cautious while the pandemic plays out - like any viral flu that catches us out, just basic hygiene will help, keep hydrated & stay away from large crowds - just in case !! I didn't say it was a cure. I said it was a prevention. This person is a pharmacist who follows all the medical reports coming out regarding COVID-19. She has to keep inventory up and even though I know it sounds like BS because I don't know the name of it (she didn't tell me), she said that because she just found out and has minimal amount in stock, she wasn't telling anyone until she could get some in stock. She knows that when the CDC announces this treatment, there will be a run on it.  She told me she was getting the prescription for me. She was at work and didn't have time to tell me more, but that I could come pick it up when I had the chance. It's a 100 mile drive so it will be the weekend before I can pick it up. All she said was that it is a weekly pill.

Because of that delay, researchers and doctors are trying other medications and treatments to see if there is something besides vaccine that will help slow the progress in the body. I would like to add that when this pharmacist was doing her rotations in school, she became good friends with a resident in infectious disease. He has been posting a lot of information on FB regarding COVID-19. I'm sure he is keeping her updated on all the possible treatments that are effective so she can get her orders in. He posted last night that if you are taking medication for high blood pressure, you are at a higher risk for more severe symptoms.

Also you can take your attitude and swallow it with a helping of corona virus on the side.

I'm not the one that started the pissing match. I was trying to be helpful and let everybody know options, not spread fake news. Now that it has been several days, this medication is being hoarded all over the world. Too late to help the haters I guess. So much for being the good samaritan.

There is a prescription drug that's been available since the 1950s to treat malaria; it's also prescribed for those who have lupus and something else.
