I think actively looking to become POZ, is a choice, but most zero conversions happen by accident, still. That was my case. I would not tell you what to do, and I won't preach either, but I will tell you how traumatic was for me back in 1992 to find out I tested positive. There are a lot of new meds out there just in case one doesn't work for you, as many meds as there are side effects. Plus there is still some stigma associated with being POZ. If you asked me, I honestly would have preferred to stay negative, but once you become POZ there is no turning back. I think our families are the ones that suffer most, since most people are uneducated about how HIV/AIDS is transmitted. Some "straights" and "bi" still think is a "Gay disease". Ha! Those idiots are in for a fucking rude awakening. Fucking someone in the asshole and/or cunt can make you POZ just the same. We POZ men and women just go on with our lives and try to stay undetectable and healthy, just like I have been for many years. Happy hunting!

There are reasons a bottom might want to be pozzed. These reasons are personal decisions that one must make, and I believe we should not put down those who are making these decisions. One of the biggest reasons seems to be the feeling of "Facing" their fears head on. It's similar to jumping off a bridge with a bungee chord. Now you might say that it's not similar since a bungee chord offers protection, but it doesn't fully offer protection. There have been sad mistakes with bungee jumping, or other items like sky diving, which have led to death. Some just like the ability to feel free; free to have sex with anyone they want, with out fear because they have already contracted the "worse of the worse". And there are other reasons, but I believe the decisions should be made by each individual, not others.

That being said, one does not need to feel alone if they become converted, nor do they have to feel hopeless. Yes, there is still prejudice believes about the disease, like you must have been out whoring around to have caught it, and that your dirty in some way. Quite frankly, i didn't seek out the bug, and was trying to be safe, but alas I got the disease. I didn't share it with everyone, only those who "Needed" to know, as in those who I had sex with. I did let a few close friends know. But I don't share it with everyone, any more than a cancer patient should be $%@#$%#$ to tell every stranger that they have cancer. It's your business, and that of those who have sex with you. And with today's medicine's, you can lead a normal life if you contract HIV. There are also some promising studies that might lead to a cure in the near future. So if you do contract hiv, don't let any of the prejudice people, including those in the gay community, get you down. And seek friendships with those who can be supporting, such as those who are already poz. And remember, you DO NOT have to share your status with everyone, just those you have sex with.

I have been POZ for 30 years. I was infected by a blood transfusion in 1984 at Carswell AFB in Texas when I was only 17. I don't understand why someone would want to deliberately become poz what are the benefits of that?
