  1. Thanks for the very nice photos. Unfortunately, many people in the work (^*&^*&(& can't go commando... at least while working. Health care providers, nurses and similar folks sporting their dicks and periodic hard-ons during the day would unnerve most patients; Tradesmen risk injuring their dick & balls from equipment and labor that inadvertently bump into or rub their crotches; Etc. Going commando requires close attention to hygiene-- leftover drops of urine staining external clothing, loose poop and flatulence can cause visible staining of clothing & sheets. Loose fitting underwear protects outer garments from such indignities!!
  2. So what exactly is going on?? Why so many YOUNG guys (20s, 30s) using cock rings to maintain hard-ons? Recent medical research has determined that your dick somewhat mirrors your own cardiovascular system. High blood pressure and arteriosclerosis affects all blood vessels, including those of the penis. Controlling blood pressure and cholesterol (and other lipids, such as low density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides (TG)) helps to protect all of your blood vessels, including those of your penis. Blood pressure under poor control can result in erectile dysfunction as well as heart & kidney disease and stroke or other brain issues. But smooth muscle which surrounds blood vessels (and allows them to constrict or dilate as the need arises) is also affected by aging. The older we get, the more the cells comprising these smooth muscles age and stop working, causing microscopic areas of scar tissue that prevents the muscles from doing their job. Heart attacks are essentially interruptions of blood flow to different parts of the heart muscle; when deprived of oxygen, collections of cells may die and cause scar tissue. In the wrong place, a person can die; In other wrong places, nerves that help the heart beat effectively, may not do so and a heart arrhythmia may develop. Scar tissue from interrupted blood flow occurring in the skeletal muscle may cause scar tissue and interrupt that muscle's ability to constrict and relax, which can cause it's share of problems! This may also contribute to a curve in your erect penis (Peyronie’s disease/penile fibrosis). So why are younger guys using cock rings? Is it because they look cool, everyone else is using them, or to try to sustain hard-ons for longer? Or is it because of underlying unaddressed health problems like high blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes, traumatic injuries, elevated cholesterol?? And what about use of viagra ("vitamin V") or cialis or similar "erectile dysfunction" medications? They usually work pretty well if the above penile blood vessels have not been severely changed from poorly controlled blood pressure, diabetes, etc. What if we were to take viagra or cialis in lower doses daily, irrespective of planned sexual activities? Would this offer some protection against expected age related changes to the smooth vessels of the penis?? Sounds good! But it is controversial, and as far as I know, no "double blinded" clinical study has yet to be done to test this hypothesis. As evidence drives medical progress, all we can do is try it ourselves or not, and hope for the best. The good news is that viagra, cialis and similar medications are not potentially harmful for most men, although they may have annoying side effects (such as temporary headache, blue tinted vision, dizziness, etc.), and MAY have dangerous interactions with other drugs that we may sometimes take: such as excessive alcohol, poppers, speed, ecstasy, crack/cocaine, as well as some prescribed medications. Note, I did not say weed (marijuana)! Go to your favorite free drug interaction app (such as Medscape) or computer program (such as drugstore.com) and check. What do you think? What are your experiences? --roc
  3. Many men when younger & "friskier" (i.e., more able to get and keep hard-ons, more able to fuck and cum several times without having to nap, etc.) had incredible stamina, and their dicks were straight or curved, looked fuller, harder, firmer. You could hang a heavy winter coat from it without it bending or getting soft! But as we get older, what was once straight, may become curved; fuller, harder, and firmer transitioned to not so full, hard and firm. And erections may occur, but get softer when trying to fuck a partner. Even cock rings don't seem to be as effective. Prescription viagra or cialis may or may not work. Recreational drugs such as weed, poppers, and alcohol usually enhanced sex, but when older, poppers may cause you to faint and may be dangerous to your heart, and alcohol doesn't do anything except cause you to make bad decisions! More serious drugs-- the illicit ones, like cocaine/crack, meth/Tina or Ecstasy may or may not cause harm, but may prolong your erections or make you horny. Unfortunately, they may put you at increased risk for heart attack or stroke even though no ill effects happened when used when younger. Getting older simply increases risk for mishap. And this does not even account for medication/drug interactions from prescribed medications!! Some meds for blood pressure, HIV, depression, prostate, allergies, diabetes, pain, and others can have both direct and indirect effects of how penis/prostate performs & how ejaculation occurs. And getting overweight by itself can affect sex and libido. Even when in perfect health without any medical conditions or any prescribed medications or taking drugs (including smoking tobacco or weed or drinking alcohol), aging skin, connective tissue, blood vessels all degrade and loose their elasticity and are less responsive to waning testosterone levels. Smooth and skeletal muscle also lose their strength. It's no wonder why former exclusive tops now favor bottoming, if they still even have an interest in sex! Now this is written in generalities. Not every episode of sex is subject to the consequences of aging. I occasionally top (but prefer bottoming), and my dick maintains exquisite sensitivity to my partner's ass. i can feel his twitching his ass on my dick, and after flipping, can feel his dick doing something wonderful to my ass, without any thrusting. But I'll get to the ass in a future posting! How common are these problems? Have you experienced any of these things, either in yourself or in your partners? How many younger guys you mess with use cock rings? Why do they need to? Are there any other weird things that you've noticed about your own dick or your partner's that you'd like to share? What do you think?
  4. "The Aging Penis" will be a serious attempt to address what happens to guys (actually our penises!) as we get older. We've all been "young, dumb, hung, and full of cum," but once we get into our 40s, 50s, and hopefully 60s, 70s, and 80s, things aren't what they used to be for most men. Hard-ons aren't so hard, cock rings may be needed, but may not do what they're supposed to do, sex drive may be less, many of us start off as tops but aging tends to favor being exclusive bottoms with greater difficulty finding tops that are compatible with our interests. The main reason may be just difficulty getting and maintaining a hard-on with out aids, and this may be due to our declining health (blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, depression, etc.) and the medications we use to counter these problems, many of which also have bad effects on sexual performance. What do you think? How has getting older affected your ability to have quality sex with your partner(s)? More on this later! An accompanying topic later will discuss "The Aging Anus" in the same vein.
